FAQs
How are the Daily Fees calculated?
The Daily Fee is set by the Government and is dependent upon your income. If you wish to have an extra level of service then an Extra Service Fee is also payable.
What is the Basic Daily Care Fee?
This fee is paid by all residents entering an Aged Care facility, irrespective of low or high care. The amount is determined by the Department of Health and Ageing.
What is the Extra Service Fee?
This fee is paid by those who have chosen residency to include the Platinum Extra Service package. For an additional fee, residents enjoy an extra range and greater choice of services.
What is the Income Tested Fee?
The Commonwealth Government income tests all residents permanently entering any residential Aged Care facility. This fee is determined by Centrelink and is based on a calculation of non-pension income and is capped by Commonwealth Government regulations.
What happens to my Bond?
Bonds are individual and are actually ‘refundable deposits’ you pay to reside at an Aged Care facility (if you have the means). The Bond enables the facility to carry out its operations for the resident’s duration at the facility. Once the resident departs the facility then the Bond (less retention fees) is returned. Retention fees are charged yearly to a maximum of five years only.
Is there a Resident Agreement?
Yes. There is a detailed agreement which outlines your rights and entitlements and all conditions of residency. This also includes any information for Platinum Extra Services.
What are Platinum Extra Services?
Buderim Views has been approved by the Australian Government to provide Extra Services. Platinum Extra Services offer residents a higher standard of accommodation, services, food and recreational opportunities. This service adds yet another element of choice for those entering Buderim Views.
Can residents stay away overnight?
Residents are entitled to 52 nights social leave per year. This leave is separate from hospital leave, should the resident become ill.
Can residents invite family and friends in for meals?
Guests are most welcome for the main meal of the day, being the lunch time meal. Bookings
are preferred and a small fee is charged.
A private dining room may also be booked for special functions and we can also assist with catering arrangements.
Are there visiting hours?
We welcome visitors at any time of day or evening. However, the doors are secured in the evening and anyone visiting or returning after dusk will need to ring the front doorbell to gain entry.
Are there laundry facilities available?
All personal laundry and linen will be done at Buderim Views for no extra charge. A labelling service is also offered.
Are pets allowed to visit?
A pet may visit at any time, however they may not stay permanently. We encourage visits by families with pets and envisage we will have pet therapy as a feature of our lifestyle program.
Can residents choose their own doctor?
Yes, if the doctor is willing to visit Buderim Views. If this is not possible, there will be a choice of other medical practitioners available.
